GRANTS OPEN TO HONOUR THE SERVICE AND SACRIFICE OF VETERANS IN MONBULK
The Andrews Labor Government will help Monbulk commemorate the sacrifice of local veterans and educate the wider community about their service.
State Member for Monbulk, James Merlino MP today announced the opening of four veterans grant programs that will provide support for local projects in Monbulk that will do just that.
Locals are encouraged to apply for the following grant programs:
- Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour (Round 1, 2017-18): supports communities to ensure local war memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour are restored to their original condition or improved to reflect the service history of the local community. Grants of up to $30,000 per project are available. Open now.
- Victoria Remembers (Round 1, 2017-18): helps communities make personal connections with the Centenary of World War One, and assist projects or activities that commemorate other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Victorians have served. Grants between $20,000 and $80,000 are available for projects with significant commemorative or educational benefit for Victoria’s diverse community. Open now.
- Anzac Centenary Community Grants: administered by the Victorian Veterans Council (Round 1, 2017-18): designed to leave a lasting legacy for future generations of those who served in World War One, both overseas and on the home front. Grants of up to $20,000 per project are available. Open now.
- ANZAC Day Proceeds Fund: administered by the Victorian Veterans Council: provides practical support to the veteran community through the provision of funding for a range of welfare related activities. Funding is provided to assist organisations whose principal objective is to provide welfare to the ex-service community. Opens 19 June 2017.
Applications for each grant program close on 28 August 2017.
