FUNDING BOOST FOR KALLISTA SCOUT GROUP

Member for Monbulk James Merlino has provided a much needed boost to the 1st Kallista Scout Group.

The Andrews Labor Government will contribute $40,000 to the redevelopment of the Kallista Scout Hall.

Due to the current state of the building at the Kallista Scout Hall, the group has been meeting at The Patch Hall which is owned and operated by the Shire of Yarra Ranges.

This funding will enable the group to restore the Kallista Scout Hall, opening up the opportunity for more regular meetings as they continue to grow in numbers.

The 1st Kallista Scout Group operates joey scout, cub scout and scout troop groups.

Mr Merlino made the announcement at the Kallista Scout Group’s Annual Reporting and Presentation night.

Quotes attributable to the Deputy Premier and Member for Monbulk James Merlino:

“The 1st Kallista Scout Group helps children learn valuable life skills and this investment to refurbish the hall which will make their experience even better.”

“The great local advocacy work of the Kallista Scouts Group, in particular James Savin, has resulted in this great funding boost for the Yarra Ranges community.”
