First-Rate School Facilities For Mooroolbark Students

Mooroolbark families will benefit from brand new school facilities.

Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Pembroke Primary School to mark the opening of two new buildings as well as upgrades to existing facilities as part of a $2.2 million investment.

A new learning centre is purpose designed for students to learn specialist skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It will include a green screen for video and multimedia production.

Pembroke Primary students will also benefit from brand new classrooms, a library and first aid room whilst teachers will enjoy a new staff room and office.

The new classrooms will open on to outdoor learning areas so that students can explore the natural environment surrounding the school.

New facilities also include ramps and covered walkways, the creation of a central amphitheatre with tiered seating and a dual-use basketball and netball court. The existing sports precinct and courtyards have also received an upgrade.

In addition to the two new buildings and the extensive revitalisation works, the Labor Government has also provided over $500,000 for asbestos removal and the demolition of old buildings.

The Government is investing $2.5 billion in better classrooms, upgraded facilities and new schools across the state.

Victoria’s school building boom has delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
