Belgrave residents are invited to help shape the design for Belgrave Station’s new multi-deck car park – being delivered by the Andrews Labor Government – at community information sessions on Thursday 13 and Thursday 20 June 2019.

Locals will have an opportunity to ask questions about the project, provide feedback and speak to the project team.

Upgrading the car park at Belgrave Station will deliver a range of benefits including 470 new parking spaces, in addition to the existing 160, boosting capacity to a total of 630 spaces.

Other improvements include pedestrian access for people of all abilities and better integration between the township and the iconic Puffing Billy tourist railway.

The project will also improve the bus interchange and bicycle storage facilities, making it easier for people to connect with different modes of transport.

New lighting, CCTV and improved wayfinding will make the station precinct safer and easier to access.

The information sessions will be held on Thursday 13 and Thursday 20 June 2019 at the Belgrave Community Hub, and local community members are invited to drop in any time between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

The community can also have their say about what matters most via an online survey now live at

The project, part of the Victorian Government’s Station Car Park program funded in the 2018/19 State Budget, will provide approximately 2,000 new and upgraded car parking spaces across Victoria.

The Government has also committed $150 million through the Car Parks for Commuters Fund, which will see an additional 11,000 new car parking spaces at Victoria’s busiest metropolitan and regional train stations.

The Belgrave Station car park upgrade is being delivered by VicTrack. Planning, design and community consultation will take place throughout 2019, with construction to start in 2020.
