Belgrave Families To Benefit From New School Facilities

The Dandenong Ranges community will soon have access to a new cutting-edge multi-media and presentation centre, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education James Merlino today visited Mater Christi College in Belgrave to announce an investment of $1 million to build a new presentation centre and virtual learning hub for students.

The $4 million centre, which will be able to seat 230 people, will be used by students as part of multi-media studies. It will include a new virtual learning hub where teachers can collaborate with industry professionals to create and deliver modern multi-media classes.

It will also feature a presentation centre with theatre-style seating and an expandable presentation stage, as well as new classrooms, a gallery, and a recording studio for students.

Mater Christi College is one of the many Victorian schools benefiting from the Labor Government’s $120 million Capital Funding Program for Non-Government Schools.

The fund is part of a $2.5 billion Government investment over three years to build the Education State, giving every student access to a great local school with a great education.

Victoria’s school building boom has delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
