Five schools in the Yarra Ranges are set to host a renowned mentoring program which helps secondary students reach their potential. Minister for Education, James Merlino, officially launched the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia’s Yarra Ranges BIG Futures program, which pairs secondary students with volunteer mentors from the local community.

The Andrews Labor Government will help fund a new eco cubby at Berwick Fields Primary School. Minister for Education, James Merlino, visited the school today to reaffirm the Labor Government’s $100,000 election pledge.
The scholarship is awarded annually to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to stay at school. Mr Merlino praised Dana for her diligence and hard-work in the face of significant hardship. Three years ago – when she was in Year 10 – Dana’s father passed away, with her brother dying in a car accident four months later.

Lilydale High School students have honoured Lilydale’s first Anzac – stretcher-bearer Ralph Goode with a World War One Commemoration Mural.
